- There is absolutely no charge to get an HRCU AlternaCheck card as long as you have a checking account with us (and if you don’t...shouldn’t you?).
- All point-of-sale transactions (when you use it to buy a product or service) are free.
- All transactions at HRCU ATMs and any ATM carrying the Co-op Logo
 are free.
- These machines are also surcharge free!
- There are over 19,000 participating Co-op ATMS.

PLEASE NOTE: Using your debit card internationally
In 2007, for security purposes HRCU debit cards will no longer automatically work outside of the United States. This includes Canada and Mexico. If you are traveling outside of the United States, simply let us know and your card will be authorized to make transactions. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy.
 VISA has developed a new online security feature called Verified by VISA® that works with existing VISA cards. With Verified by VISA®, consumers can rest assured that using their VISA cards on the Web is just as safe as using it at a local merchant around the corner.
