ROCHESTER, NH – On June 21st, Dana Flanders, HRCU Chairman of the Board of Directors, Brian Hughes, President & CEO, and Jim Brock of the Scholarship Committee were pleased to award ten local students with college scholarships. A total of 240 scholarships totaling over $243,000 has now been awarded by HRCU in the 25 years since the program began.
“We had another extremely competitive year with a lot of deserving candidates applying for these scholarships,” said Hughes. “We are very happy to award them to this group and wish them all the best of luck at their colleges this fall.”
Scholarship recipients this year included: Zander Allen, a Spaulding High School (SHS) graduate attending the University of New Hampshire (UNH), Alisha Golodner, a Dover High School (DHS) graduate heading to the Berklee College of Music, Lindsey Hatfield, a Portsmouth Christian Academy graduate heading to UNH, Marlys Mason, an SHS graduate attending Emmanuel College, Andrea Pickett, a Dover Adult Education graduate attending Southern New Hampshire University and Lily Stinchfield, a Kingswood Regional High School graduate heading to Colby Sawyer College.
HRCU also awarded Nicole Carroll, Lydia Deroches, Kevin Golightly and Brandon Grondin with scholarships in recognition of their outstanding achievement in this year’s HRCU’s Banking and Financial Support Services class at SHS. The banking and finance programs have been taught by HRCU since 2006. HRCU also operates a full-service branch, open to the public at SHS, when school is in session.
