ROCHESTER, NH – HRCU recently announced that their operations conference room at the Rochester head office has been officially dedicated as the Lucien “Lou” Gagne Operations Center Conference Room. Gagne was a devoted supporter of the credit union for over 50 years, serving on both the Board of Directors and the Council of Trustees.
A ceremony was held in November to recognize Gagne’s exceptional service to HRCU and to formally dedicate the conference room. In attendance were his wife Jeannette, HRCU President & CEO Brian Hughes, and Bob Langelier of the Supervisory Committee, who is also Lou Gagne’s brother-in-law. A plaque and photo are now prominently displayed in the conference room for all to see and recall his commitment to HRCU.
“Lou meant so much to HRCU for such a long time, that it only seemed right for us to have something here to recognize his unwavering dedication,” said Hughes.
Gagne was one of the first members of HRCU and served the credit union since 1965. He was also a popular barber in the Rochester area and was known to often praise the credit union to his clients. When you would ask how he was, his trademark response always followed – “Number 1”. Gagne was the inspiration for the making of Comme D’Or, a book which chronicles the first fifty years of Holy Rosary Credit Union.
