Rochester, NH – The HRCU Financial Education department recently visited Easterseals at The Homemakers Health Services in Rochester to teach seniors and caregivers on the dangers of financial fraud. Topics included common scams, warning signs to look for, who may be at risk, and how to report cases.
“Getting out to different organizations like this where we can speak directly to the people that are being victimized by these scams, as well as those caring for them, is so important,” said Leah Taylor, HRCU’s Director of Financial Education. “The more we can educate these people, the more they can be prepared to protect their financial well-being or the well-being of seniors they responsible for.”
HRCU plans to give more of these presentations in the future and expand their reach to educate as many people on these topics as possible.
“Senior financial fraud is a big problem we see too often in our local community and at HRCU we are going to continue doing all we can to help those be prepared when they are targeted by one of these scams,” said HRCU President & CEO Brian Hughes.
