Nobody is perfect. That's why we offer ways that you can protect your checking accounts from overdrafts in the event that your account has insufficient funds and is unable to clear an item or cover a transaction.
Savings Overdraft Protection
Overdraft protection allows funds from your savings account, or a different HRCU account of your choice, to be transferred to your checking account to pay an item. Contact us or visit a branch to set up your accounts for this service.
Courtesy Pay Privilege
With this protection option, the credit union may authorize and pay the following types of transactions:
- Checks and other transactions made using your checking account number
- Automatic bill payments
We do not authorize and pay an overdraft for ATM transactions.
Daily debit card transactions are paid one time when you elect to Opt-In for the service.
We pay overdrafts using Courtesy Pay at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and/or pay an overdraft, your transaction will be returned and/or declined. A nonsufficient funds (NSF) fee may be charged if an item is paid, declined or returned.
